Gearing up for the holiday.

After a very long and busy term, we are nearly at the holidays. Yay!  Time to slow down, recharge the batteries and READ. Students have been making sure they have some great titles before they leave for the week. The Library Ladiez too: Mrs Gibson is off to Turkey with Pigeon English by Stephen Kelman. Mrs Wood is in the middle of Perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and Mrs Vaux is curling up with A woman in black by Susan Hill.

Following the break we will be starting a Year 7 Reading Group after school on Wednesday in LB1. We will be looking at the books shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Red House Book Award. Each list contains titles accessable to all and any student with a keen interest in reading is welcome to join us. Refreshements will be provided while we chat about what we have read and decide amongst ourselves who we think should win.

This year’s judges include Liz Pichon who spoke to our Year 7s in September.
