Malorie is a lovely and inspiring lady, who has been writing for many years and she will be presenting her new novel Noble Conflict. She is best known for her multi award-winning Noughts & Crosses series where she addresses racial issues, depicting a world in which black people (Crosses) are the ruling elite and white people (noughts) are confined to minority status, denied legal rights and work in menial jobs. The novels focus on the frustrated love affair between a black girl, Sephy, and a white boy,Callum. The couple have been described as a modern-day Romeo and Juliet.
As Children’s Laureate, Malorie is championing the wide and varied work of authors writing for teenagers today, as well as encouraging all children to own a Library Card.
