20 Year 12 students who are hoping to complete an Extended Project this summer visited the Library at the Frenchay Campus of UWE on Friday, with Mr Langford, Mrs Browne and Mrs Gibson. They were given a tour of the facilities which takes over 3 floors: one for group work, one quiet and one silent (“it’s bigger than our whole school” one student exclaimed and they may not be far wrong!). There were books, journals, statistics, law papers, as well as e books and online databases. Geoff Cole, the Schools Support Librarian, gave us an introduction to facilities and resources available, showing us how to use the website to search. Students then had a couple of hours to search for and use resources for their projects.
The following links give more information about:
- Use of the library by members of the public, including the external borrowing scheme
- Guest access to online resources service
- Support for schools and colleges – the Related Link to the Guide for External Borrowers is for teachers, librarians and other support staff to complete giving free borrowing facilities.
If any students or teachers have queries about UWE Libraries or researching their project, please come in and ask Mrs Gibson, who will be happy to help (when she is not dreaming of 3 floors worth of library!).
